Discover Amorgos...

Amorgos is an island of ancient civilization located in the middle of the Aegean Sea in the eastern Cyclades.

Amorgos, the island of the endless blue has inspired many artists around the world with its clean and dramatic nature, the clear blue waters and the picturesque villages where people still keep alive the old traditions.

Aegiali of Amorgos is a unique complex of villages north of Amorgos. Here is the second port of the island (after Katapola), which is about 17 km from Chora.

The villages of Aegiali are Tholaria, Lagada and Potamos. Ormos or Gialos is the center of Aegiali, with the famous windmill next to the port, gathers mainly those involved in fishing, while it is also the most cosmopolitan place.

The monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa is located northeast of Chora. It was founded in 1088 by Alexios Komninos. It is built literally inside the rocks at an altitude of 300 meters from the sea and is visible only from the sea.
